Holkirk was proud to participate in EX AURORA DEMONSTRATE SATCOM DAY, hosted by the 21st Signals Regiment (EW) on July 16, 2025. Set against a backdrop of brilliant sunshine, the event provided the perfect stage to debut our latest innovation—the SCARAB.
A New Era in Portable Satcom the Holkirk SCARAB is a game-changing man-pack satellite terminal, designed for multi-band, multi-orbit operations. With support for GEO, Inclined Orbit, and HEO acquisition and tracking, SCARAB delivers unmatched flexibility and adaptability in the field—making it ideal for tactical and expeditionary missions.
Beyond the impressive inclined orbit tracking, discussions also delved into the versatility of Holkirk’s Antenna Control Units (ACUs), emphasising their capability to track alternative orbits such as Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) and Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) using TLE (Two-Line Element), beacon signal, and memory table method.
Live demonstrations drew strong interest from attendees, highlighting SCARAB’s rapid deployment, compact form factor, and seamless connectivity across satellite constellations. The terminal’s interchangeable RF payload, quick-change modem cartridge, and superior satellite acquisition and tracking—especially for GEO and inclined SKYNET satellites—set a new benchmark for portable satcom performance.
- Person-Pack: Ideal for fast setup and immediate use.
- Flyaway Terminal: Portable and easy to transport, perfect for field operations.
- Vehicle Mounted: Provides reliable communication on the pause.
- Deployable Earth Stations: For quick deployable command centres.
Thanks to Our Partners we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited our stand and engaged in discussions about next-generation satcom solutions. A special shout-out to Team Aurora and the 21st Signals Regiment EW for hosting a fantastic day of collaboration and innovation.
Holkirk is proud to be at the forefront of mobile satellite communications. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event—see you there!
