Our range of weatherproof ruggedised electronics have been designed to allow complete satellite terminal integration without the need for indoor cases and long, expensive and heavy cross-site cables.

Modules include Battery monitor and control, IP Modems, WIFI routers, DC to DC conversion, GSM off-air monitoring, and control.

BMS2590 – Battery Monitor and Control

Battery Management System (BMS 2590) provides real-time monitoring and control over multiple BB2590 MIL-STD batteries, ensuring optimised power distribution through a make-before-brake system.

This allows users to seamlessly swap between power sources without interruption. The integrated battery management functionality enables enhanced power efficiency, prolonging the operational lifespan of the connected batteries.

The BMS-2590 enhances battery control and monitoring by providing users with real-time insights into battery health, charge status, and power output. It’s make-before-break switching mechanism ensures continuous operation and prevents power disruption when swapping between batteries.

Each BB2590 battery consists of two internal power cells within each battery and the BMS-2590 independently monitors these cells, displaying charge levels on the primary screen as a split graphic representation.

Additional details on each cell can be accessed through button-operated cycling of each battery (A or B). BMS-2590 presents comprehensive data regarding the status and specifications of each battery cell.

IP Modems
Holkirk offers a range of waterproof IP modems for either use with our tactical terminals or as a stand-alone modem. The systems are fully enclosed for outdoor use and have IP65 rated connectors for RF, Ethernet, and power.

Mains / Battery operation and dc to dc conversion

Our ruggedised electronics range can be powered from an IP67 AC/DC power brick or direct DC powered from batteries via the Holkirk DC to DC converter.
