Next Generation Land Terminal – Scarab Manpack

Multi-band multi-orbit motorised manpack terminal

The new Holkirk SCARAB is a ground breaking addition to the world of portable satellite communication terminals. As a multi-band, multi-orbit man-pack terminal, the SCARAB offers unparalleled flexibility and adaptability in the field.

SCARAB Multi-Band Person Pack Terminal

Optimised for both Geostationary (GEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites, as well as inclined orbit and HEO networks, the SCARAB delivers seamless and high-performance connectivity.

Featuring the revolutionary Quick Change Cartridge System, users can effortlessly switch between X-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band frequencies without needing any tools or technical expertise.

The SCARAB is meticulously engineered to track non-geostationary (non-GEO) satellites, ensuring high-throughput, low-latency communications. It is the ideal solution for field deployments, emergency response teams, and mobile command centres, offering user-friendly operation, lightweight portability, and robust weatherproof durability.

Here are some of its key benefits:

Multi-Band Capability: The SCARAB operates across multiple frequency bands, from X-Band to Ka-band. This allows for a wide range of communication options, ensuring operators can maintain connectivity in various environments and missions.

Multi-Orbit Operation: With the ability to operate in different satellite orbits, including GEO, MEO, and LEO, the SCARAB provides consistent coverage and high-speed data transfer rates, making it ideal for diverse operational requirements. By integrating advanced antenna technology and sophisticated tracking algorithms, the Scarab terminal ensures reliable connectivity with satellites in inclined orbits, which often involve more dynamic movement relative to the Earth’s surface.

No Tools Required: One of the most innovative features of the SCARAB is its quick-change RF transceiver. This design allows operators to switch frequency bands without the need for additional tools or equipment, significantly reducing setup time and complexity.

Operational Efficiency: The quick-change capability means that field operators can adapt to changing mission requirements on the fly, without technical support. This leads to increased operational efficiency and a higher rate of mission success.

Versatility: Whether it’s for military, emergency response, or remote field operations, the SCARAB’s versatility makes it a valuable asset. It ensures that users have access to reliable communication channels, regardless of their global position or the satellite infrastructure in place.

With fast and accurate drive systems the SCARAB can quickly acquire the most challenging of satellites in highly inclined orbits.
