London, UK – Holkirk recently participated in a highly successful live demonstration event at the prestigious Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) building in London, showcasing the advanced capabilities of its SCARAB and Scorpion-Lite satellite communication systems during the 2025 Space and Communication week.
The highlight of the event was the live demonstrations conducted on the IET building’s stunning roof terrace, offering panoramic views across the London skyline. This spectacular backdrop provided the perfect setting to highlight the power of the Holkirk SCARAB system. In front of a very receptive audience, Holkirk demonstrated the SCARAB’s remarkable speed and accuracy in acquiring and tracking X-Band inclined orbit satellites. Attendees witnessed firsthand the system’s ability to lock onto and track spacecraft with inclinations reaching 14 degrees and beyond.
Beyond the impressive inclined orbit tracking, discussions also delved into the versatility of Holkirk’s Antenna Control Units (ACUs), emphasising their capability to track alternative orbits such as Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) and Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) using TLE (Two-Line Element), beacon signal, and memory table method.
Inside the IET building, attendees had the opportunity to explore the ultra-compact IP terminal, Scorpion-Lite. This innovative system, featuring integrated RF and a communication modem, garnered significant interest for its compact design and powerful performance.
